I’ve never considered myself to be a fashionista, I’ll take comfy over stylish any day and look at some of the ‘fashion’ trends with a sense of bemusement (transparent plastic clothing I’m looking right at you!). The off the shoulder Bardot trend, however, is one that I have whole heartedly been adoring.
Exposing the shoulders and collar bones adds instant femininity, highlighting the gentle contours of the upper body, often hidden under raised necklines and thick straps. Choosing a Bardot with a ruffle is perfect for adding movement, as well as emphasising the bodies curves and the illusion of an hourglass figure.
As well as exposed shoulders I’ve also been drawn to all things baby blue, pairing a ruffled top with simple cigarette trousers and some basic white espadrilles for a clean summery look that can be taken from day to night with a touch of jewellery and a pair of heels.
My collection of cold shoulder and Bardot tops is steadily growing, and I can see it being a trend to last.
Have you been loving the Bardot trend this spring/summer?
