  • Simple and easy 3 ingredient face mask – in collaboration with Seatox

Seatox Avocado and Kelp Face mask in

My skincare routine is very simple. I have very sensitive skin; perfumed products, drug-store face masks and complicated chemical ingredients leave my skin flakey, irritated and unhappy. I like to use minimal products and keep them as pure, natural and nourishing as possible in order to avoid flare-ups and to maintain a clear complexion.

Those cute looking fruity facemasks that you can buy from the supermarket were never for me and it has been many a year since I’ve tried anything new to the market for fear of upsetting my skins delicate balance.

For those with skin like mine simple is often best, with natural ingredients trumping chemical formulas; which is why I jumped at the chance to try the Seatox Organic Kelp-Help Face Mask Powder*. You’ll only find one ingredient on this Seatox packaging, 100% Organic Wild Kelp, hand harvested from the west coast of Ireland.

This simple kelp powder has a multitude of beneficial properties:

    • A high Iodine content helps to soothe dry skin and lock-in moisture
    • It’s anti-inflammatory and mineral rich to calm break-outs
    • It’s rich in anti-oxidants to help protect the skin against UVA rays and daily pollutants, slowing down the ageing process

All you need to make this three-ingredient face mask are:

    • 1/2 an avocado
    • Some warm water
    • 1 tbsp of kelp powder

Simply re-hydrate a tablespoon of kelp powder in about 50ml of warm water and add to mashed avocado. Adjust the texture by adding a little more warm water. Spice things up by adding essential oils for a beautiful aroma.

Out of avocado? Coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, aloe vera gel and even honey can be used as a base for the kelp powder.

So take five minutes for yourself tonight and #SeatoxYourself, your skin will thank you.
